The City of Gold Coast employs over 3,000 staff and is the second largest local government in Australia, administering an area from the Albert River to the border of Queensland and New South Wales. A key outcome in the Gold Coast 2020 plan is to establish Council as “an active digital city”. City of Gold Coast engaged Idea 11 to build their Digital City platform. The Digital City platform is a foundational element on which to deliver City-wide digital services.
In 2017, G8 Education embarked on a strategic review of their IT environment with a vision to transform to a flexible and scalable digital platform that could keep pace with the rapid growth of G8 and allow innovation. Their existing IT solution consisted of on-premises infrastructure with a remote backup/disaster recovery capability that was performing poorly and struggling to meet business requirements.
G8 Education needed an IT solution that was highly available, highly redundant and cost effective, servicing their businesses across Australia and Singapore.
G8 Education had a simple objective - take an arduous, manual process and transform it into a slick, automated operation. G8 Education’s communications team implemented a SaaS application to facilitate communication across their large and distributed organisation - Vision6. Unfortunately, the application did not have the functionality to import and synchronise contact data as an automated process. Due to the scale of the organisation - thousands of staff across over 500 locations - manual intervention was not an option and Idea 11 were engaged to remove this roadblock.
